Public-Private Partnerships at the Core of Rwanda’s Economic Strategy

Today, Minister Prudence Sebahizi joined Francis Gatare, CEO of the Rwanda Development Board, Jeanne Francoise Mubiligi, Chairperson of the Private Sector Federation, and other private sector leaders at the CEO Forum. This event was organized to explore strategies for fostering a business-friendly environment that supports economic growth and enables businesses to thrive.

The forum marked a significant step in the Government’s commitment to cultivating a robust and resilient business climate aligned with Rwanda’s development goals. By convening local and international investors from diverse sectors, the meeting fostered a shared vision of responsibilities and opportunities in driving Rwanda’s economic growth and strengthening public-private partnerships for sustainable development.

In his address, Minister Sebahizi underscored the crucial role of the private sector in achieving the targets outlined in Rwanda’s National Strategy for Transformation (NST2). He highlighted key goals, including doubling exports from USD 3.5 billion to USD 7.3 billion and increasing investments from USD 2.2 billion to USD 4.6 billion, among others.

Minister Sebahizi called on the private sector to capitalize on market opportunities presented by various economic blocs and free trade area agreements that Rwanda is a member of, emphasizing the importance of boosting local production to seize these opportunities.
