Rwanda and Jordan Sign Memoranda of Understanding to Enhance Cooperation
The Rwanda–Jordan Joint Trade Committee Meeting, held from 8–9 October 2025, concluded with the signing of several Memoranda of Understanding aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two nations.
The agreements cover key sectors including trade and investment promotion, tourism, environmental protection and climate change cooperation, as well as collaboration in the regulation of food and medical products—laying a solid foundation for deeper economic partnership.
During the meeting, Rwanda and Jordan also agreed to commence negotiations on a preferential trade agreement expected to significantly boost bilateral trade.
Rwanda’s Minister of Trade and Industry, Prudence SEBAHIZI, said the convening of the Joint Trade Committee reflects the commitment of both governments to deepen economic and commercial relations.
“Today’s signing of the Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) will be an important step toward institutionalizing our partnership. However, beyond the signing ceremony, our collective focus must be on implementation, ensuring that the agreements reached translate into real projects, investments, and trade exchanges,” Minister SEBAHIZI added.
H.E. Eng. Yarub Qudah, Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, highlighted that the committee’s convening follows the high-level royal visit to Kigali in 2024, underlining both nations’ commitment to expanding cooperation in areas such as commerce, investment, and private sector engagement.
The meeting concluded with a Rwanda–Jordan Business Forum, which provided a platform for both countries’ business communities to explore investment prospects and strengthen partnerships for mutual growth.
