MINICOM rolls out nationwide PSDYE strategy dissemination campaign
The Ministry of Trade and Industry, together with the Ministry of Public Service and Labour, Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning, Rwanda Development Board, Rwanda Mining Board, and the Rwanda Inspectorate, Competition and Consumer Protection Authority— in partnership with GIZ Rwanda—has launched a nationwide awareness campaign for the Private Sector Development and Youth Employment (PSDYE) Sector Strategic Plan 2024–2029.
The campaign is engaging provincial and district leaders, along with representatives of the private sector, youth, women, and people with disabilities, to explain the objectives of the five-year strategy and outline their role in its implementation.
It serves as a platform to present strategic priorities, highlight sector opportunities, and mobilise collective action for inclusive and sustainable development. So far, dissemination has taken place in the Western, Southern, and Northern Provinces, with the Eastern Province and the City of Kigali scheduled for next week.
Participants welcomed the initiative, noting that it will ease coordination during implementation. “Raising awareness among those responsible for the PSDYE Strategy will foster better collaboration,” said Mr. Pascal Ngendahimana, Executive Secretary of the Northern Province. He reaffirmed the province’s commitment to supporting the programme.
The PSDYE Sector Strategic Plan 2024–2029 is a key driver of Rwanda’s economic transformation. It focuses on strengthening private sector growth and boosting youth employment by improving firm productivity, promoting competitive value chains, supporting industrialisation, expanding exports, attracting investment, and improving market access.
As Rwanda advances towards its Vision 2050 and NST2 targets, effective communication and broad stakeholder engagement will be critical to ensuring coordinated implementation of the PSDYE strategy.
