Minister Sebahizi discusses trade facilitation initiatives with USAID
On Thursday, October 24, 2024, Minister Prudence Sebahizi met with Ms. Jessie Snaza, Deputy Office Director for Economic Growth and Feed the Future Coordinator at USAID Rwanda, alongside Ms. Jackie Zizane, Chief of Party for the Feed the Future-Boneza Ubucuruzi initiative, and their delegation.
The meeting focused on enhancing collaborations for the implementation of the Feed the Future Rwanda Trade Facilitation Activity, known as Boneza Umucuruzi in Kinyarwanda. This initiative aims to bolster cross-border trade by addressing and eliminating non-tariff barriers (NTBs) that hinder the seamless flow of goods and services. Additionally, it seeks to improve the automation of cross-border trade processes.
Recognizing the significance of tackling NTBs, the Government of Rwanda has established a National Monitoring Committee dedicated to identifying and removing these barriers, ensuring a more efficient and effective trading environment.
