KAMPALA – The Tenth Joint Permanent Commission (JPC) between Rwanda and Uganda kicked off yesterday 24thJanury 2012 in Kampala with both countries promising to eliminate the existing Non-Tariff trade Barriers.

From 19th to 20th January 2012, the Ministry of Trade and Industry of Rwanda and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives of Uganda led delegations from the Public and Private sector in a bilateral meeting held at White Horse Inn in Kabale (Uganda) to discuss trade issues affecting the two countries.

The Minister of Trade and Industry, Francois Kanimba, yesterday on 20thJanuary 2012 urged MPs to treat, as urgent, a bill on competitiveness and consumer protection, which he said is a key ingredient in market liberalization.
